Christmas Time at Angel Pawz

Christmas really is a time here at Angel Pawz when we get the most updates on our puppies. And we absolutely love it. Its probably because we send out a Christmas card and we get some love back! We are coming up on the 9 year anniversary of our first litter and time really does fly. We love hearing from everyone and we love that people really open their hearts to us, as we do the same. I hear all the time “how do you let them go? I couldn’t do it.” And the truth is we never really let any of them go, we just make room in our hearts for more. This is a huge labor of love, and devotion. There is heartbreak and triumphs on our end. A lot that people don’t see, although we are very transparent in our journey. We don’t take credit for who our puppies turn out to be, that is all up to their incredible owners. We get them for the first 8 weeks to jump start their lives. But the incredible families they go to are really who make them who they are. A family that has always kept me updated on their dogs ventures is the Foldenauers. They have Brady who is the first puppy ever born here, we named him Brady in conjunction to his dad Brody, and Brad and Jackie kept his name. Brady has been an agility champion for years and recently retired from agility. A year ago Brad and Jackie bought Radar and he is doing an incredible job in agility. The things Brad and Jackie have done with these dogs its just incredible and their ribbons and titles are vast.

Someone else who has not only been a friend in business but an incredible friend in life is Debbie Fisher, who has supported me personally and has three amazing little girls from us. Clementine, Daisy, and Petunia. Debbie has a true givers heart and I would be lost without her. Shes always there with a listening ear, and sweet treats!

Marjorie Geist is not only an incredible artist, but has bought two puppies from us, her beloved Molly, as well as a dog for her mom, Mugsy, who was born with one eye. This was something we had never had happen and Marjorie was quick to scoop up Mugsy and love him. We cannot wait for the Molly series of books that we have been waiting for!

These are just three families that we have been blessed to know. Every single family that walks through our doors has added to our lives in some way. Every single one of you have supported us, and that means more than anything. We continue in this journey to give you all happy and healthy puppies. Its our mission to make sure we are doing our best to give you the healthiest puppies possible. How can we not share what we are lucky enough to call ours? We always tell people we consider it sharing when a puppy leaves us. And we hope to continue to do that for another 9 years and beyond. Merry Christmas everyone, we hope you have the best holiday season.

Upcoming Litters and New Editions

Upcoming in November, Alice is expecting a litter. We have two deposits down, and since this is Alice’s last litter we will be keeping two girls of our own. Emmy is also due with her first litter in early December. Both Alice and Emmy’s litters will only have Blenheims and Tri-Colors. We have two new editions to Angel Pawz, Holly had a little ruby girl that we have decided to keep and call Sadie. We have also been incredibly blessed to have a new boy to add to the ranks. Remy is an absolute angel, hailing from Cavaliers for The King in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tara and her family have been incredible to work with. You can see both Sadie and Remy on the Adults Page.

A water log stick will do just fine.

A dog doesn’t care if your rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb.

Give him your heart and he’ll give you his.”

Tucker

A lot of our past puppy know that Tucker had a sudden stroke 3 weeks ago. He was doing better, he was not mentally all there yet, but he was getting better. This past Wednesday Tucker was not doing well. He was not walking, he physically could not eat or drink on his own, he had rapid eye movement and his head bobbed from side to side. He went downhill very fast. Yesterday with our vets help we made the decision to let Tucker go. It was not easy in any way. I spent the last 5 days picking him up to go outside, syringe feeding him food and water. Our vet said he may have had a brain lesion or tumor that caused a regression.. There wasn’t anything we could do about it. To say we felt helpless is an understatement. Right now it doesn’t even feel real that Tucker isn’t here with us, I poured a bowl of food for him this morning, forgetting that he isn’t here. We lost Tucker on Brody’s 10th birthday. Our hearts are broken, but Tucker is in Heaven now, happy and healthy again. Anyone who has ever gotten a puppy from us knows this is a family business. These guys aren’t just breeding dogs, they are part of our family. First and foremost, this WAS NOT genetic. This is not something that could or would be passed onto any of Tuckers babies. Tucker was heart cleared by a cardiologist.  We have Tucker daughter’s here, Holly, Beas, and Emmy. Alice right now is pregnant with Tuckers babies, little pieces of Tucker. We are upfront and honest with anyone who gets a puppy from us. Tucker was the best boy, he was smart, and sweet and we miss him. Usually when I do website updates, like this one, he is in the chair sitting behind, or next to me, and it hurts that he isn’t here, but hes not hurting anymore. We needed everyone to know that this was not genetic, that his babies are fine, and not in danger of anything happening to them. At the bottom of this I will be putting our vet’s number if anyone wants to double check that what we are saying is true. Its important to us that people trust us. Alice has a litter due around the 9th of November, we will be keeping 2 girls from her. We were already planning on doing that because this will be Alice’s last litter. We just thought it was important to post this as with Alice’s puppies coming, people will not be meeting their amazing daddy, like everyone usually does. If you have any concerns, please email me, or call me.

NuVet Suppliments and Angel Pawz

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to add a few changes we have added to the dogs diets, well its really only one. I have started using a supplement with the puppies and the adults called NuVet Plus, I have made a page for it on here so everyone can check it out and have some information it. I have really noticed especially in the puppies and the moms who are pregnant or nursing that it is really adding a boost to their immune systems. I have done a heck of a lot of research, even contacted another breeder I noticed was using it to see if it was a good idea to add it to the dogs diets. It has given them incredible coats, even after birth when the girls blow their coats. The puppies love it in their food. And one of the bonuses is the protection against allergies it has. I have loved it for Brody who is coming up on 10, as added protection as he gets older. Check out the NuVet tab, and any questions, as I tell everyone…Call or email me!

Retiring Winni and Upcoming Litter

Right now our next litter is Alice and Tucker. Because this is Alice’s last litter before she is retired, we are keeping a pick girl out of her. We also have one deposit on the litter. This litter will have Blenheims and Tri-Colors. We have also placed Winnie up for sale. She has never been bred, and seems to have no plans in doing so. We would like to find her a great family, where she can have the individual attention that she deserves. She is incredible, and we are going to miss having her here as family members. She is great with kids and other dogs (obviously) please contacts me for more information on Winnie.

Current and Upcoming Litters

From Olive and Tuckers litter the only puppy left is Margo (black and tan female) She is the cutest sweetest little boy, and she LOVES to cuddle more than anything. Holly and Brody are expecting a litter around September 18th. We have two deposits down for ruby girls. This litter will ONLY be blenheims and rubies. I have been having technical difficulties with the website, so please be patient as I get new pictures uploaded. For the time being the families with puppies from Olive and Tuckers litter will receive pictures in their email instead of on the website.

~In Memory of Charlotte~ (Please Read)

This past week an a half has been a particularly trying one. A family who bought a puppy from us just a little over a year ago passed away. Charlotte ate a bee, and had an immediate allergic reaction to it. She passed within a half hour. I guess the reason I am writing this is so that other owners are aware of just another thing that is out there that can hurt our beloved pets. I don’t know if everyone has a pet that likes to chase after bee, or flies, or butterflies, but these things can very easily hurt your pets. We recently had our cat Bliss get sick from eating a fly, and she soon stopped eating and began vomiting. This doesn’t just apply to dog owners but to breeders as well. I recently through, Charlotte’s passing learned that there is an Epi-Pen for dogs. We need to watch our animals closely especially during the summer months because the Cavalier is a very curious dog. Just this last winter I posted about Chloe who died from eating poisonous mushrooms. I hope everyone really reads the blogs I post on here. I don’t just do it for my benefit, but the more I learn the more I like to share to prevent any further heartache. Charlotte was so loved, she was so beautiful. She was the absolute spitting image of her momma Olive. I want to say to Charlotte’s family, I am so sorry for your loss. Hopefully we can prevent any further loses with a bit more awareness.
